All of my celebrant services are adapted to the individuality of the person you have lost.

Funeral ceremony: £220

With coronavirus restrictions lifting, I can now come to your home to find out about the type of ceremony you would like and the person you’ve lost. If you’d prefer me not to visit, we can ‘meet’ via phone or video. The most memorable ceremonies are filled with stories and loving memories of the individual and I encourage contributions from family and friends.

You receive a draft of the ceremony and can make as many amendments, as many times as you like, until you are absolutely sure the ceremony will be as you want it.

I lead the ceremony at the venue, time and date of your choice. Remember, funerals can be held at any suitable venue, not just at crematoriums and cemeteries.

You receive an attractive keepsake copy of the ceremony as a memento.

My fee includes adapting the ceremony, if required, for webcasting on the day of the funeral. It also includes an electronic copy of the ceremony that you can send to people who are unable to attend in person or via webcast so that they can read the script and follow the ceremony in real time.

Travel within Swale, Medway, Maidstone and Gravesham areas is included. Travel costs to other areas will made fully transparent in our initial discussions.

Scattering or interment of ashes: £50 – £100

A brief ceremony for the scattering or interment of your loved one’s ashes is a beautiful way to say goodbye when your grief may feel less overwhelming. And you may be surprised by the wide variety of options open to you.

It can be an opportunity to bring together people who couldn’t be at the original funeral.

My fee depends on whether or not I prepared and delivered the original funeral ceremony.

Advance planning: £180

It’s enormously comforting for families when they know that they are following the funeral wishes of their loved one.

And it’s comforting for you too. Planning your own funeral ceremony is a wonderful opportunity to look back on your life and the people you love and ensure you are remembered how you want to be remembered. It might even drive you to do the things you haven’t yet done.

My fee covers a meeting, up to five drafts of the ceremony and an attractive printed copy. I also offer online storage space via my professional organisation free of charge. The fee for leading the ceremony will be payable at my rate at the time.

Memorial service: from £220

If the original funeral was affected by the pandemic, you might like to consider arranging a memorial event now.

This can be at any suitable venue of your choice – either in the crematorium chapel again or somewhere that has happier memories.

I can simply prepare and lead the service or I can also help you with the preparations – my fee will depend on just how much involvement you would like from me.

There will be a discount if I prepared and led the original service.

Online vigil or ceremony: from £100

With people spread around the world, more and more memorials are moving online.

A vigil is a fairly informal coming together. People read or chat about their memories, we play favourite music, we may enjoy his or her favourite food and drink – whatever feels right.

An online ceremony is more formal, closer in format to the service in a chapel or cemetery.

The benefit over a webcast is that everyone is able to see each other, which can feel very comforting.

Case Studies

Bringing public and private life together

I was invited to create and lead a ceremony for a well-known individual that would recognise his prominence and achievements but also work within the restrictions of the COVID pandemic.

Saying goodbye to a loving couple

This elderly couple had an incredibly long and happy marriage and died within days of each other. I helped their family create a double funeral that lovingly released them on their final journey – together in death as they had been in life.
